In a turn that is just as odd as when Orson Welles started to endorse Paul Masson wine in the early 1980’s–Cleveland Cav’s forward LeBron James has signed on as a spokesman for Progressive insurance.
Progressive insurance has launched a campaign that they’re about to begin a heavy push with called “The Switch”. Progressive deems their spokesman “Flo”, the queen of marketing–and chief marketing officer for Progressive Jeff Charney said in a recent statement about the teaming of LeBron James and Flo: “In the coming months, look for more digital bread crumbs that show a different side of each of these icons. The Switch is just getting started.” Flo is an icon? Hmm….
Progressive put up a 15 second promo spot up on their instagram earlier this week and to tie this all in together–costumeagent.com currently sells a “Flo” costume. You can check it out here. Now, to the LeBron/Flo video… What do we call them? LeFlo? FloBron? Well, err, we don’t know either.
